10 Ways to Quickly Improve Your Energy Flow

It’s 2020, which means it’s time for all the #NewYearNewYou posts. If you’re planning on participating this year, how about taking some time to improve your health by improving your energy flow? Here are just a few ways to do that:

Exercise is an important part of any life. Whether that means yoga, walking, running, weightlifting, or something else, it’s important to get your body moving and your heart rate up. Not only is it great for your body, it helps you keep your energy flowing throughout, and reduces stagnation in the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of your life.

Listening to What Your Body Wants Put In It

What you put into your body is extremely important. You have basic needs to stay alive – proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and water. Being imbalanced in those is going to cause issues in your physical body as well as your energy.
Everyone’s body is different, so it’s important to listen to your body through cravings and intuition to see what it needs at any given time. If you have a less than perfect diet, good quality supplements are a great way to keep your energy up to the levels it should be. In general, a good rule of thumb is that the more recently your food was living before eating it, the better it will be for your energy, especially if it was of good quality and grown with love and respect. If not, there are also ways you can use reiki to improve the quality of your food.
This also covers *not* putting substances into it that aren’t good for it – drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and anything else that poisons it. Of course, in the case of health issues, it’s important to take medicine when necessary, even if it’s not great for your body in other ways.

Making Time To Rest

Rest is also as important as food and exercise. You need a good amount of sleep (again, listen to your body to see what it needs from you), as well as general relaxation. When life is stressful and busy, it’s even more important to make time for rest.

Thinking Positive Things + Gratitude

Negative thoughts can cause negative emotions, which will affect physical, mental and spiritual health, especially over time. While it’s important to recognize the darker sides of life and work through them, it’s also important to use those feelings as a catalyst to propel you toward growth, and not get stuck in them.
A great way to improve the quality of your thoughts is through meditation – becoming the observer of your thoughts – and through gratitude practices – becoming aware of the things that you are thankful for in your life.

Breathing Well

Right now, take three deep breaths. As you breathe in, imagine that the air is chi, life force energy. As you breathe out, imagine breathing all negative energies out of your body.
You should already feel the great power of intentional breathing. Breathwork is an important part of most spiritual practices – it has the potential to put its user into trance, to achieve magical purposes, and just to renew the flow of energy through your body and aura.

Acting with Integrity

Integrity, according to dictionary.com, means “the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles, moral uprightness,” or “the state of being whole and undivided.” While the second definition is usually used in the case of things, not people, it is equally important. You should have an ethical code you live by, and seek to keep your personal energy contained within your own body.
While this is something that is important for you personally to decide upon, some basic ideas for your ethical code should be: keeping from harming others, protection of those weaker than you, being honest and direct in communication, and taking responsibility for your actions.

Seeking Growth

Seeking growth can be as big or as small as you make it. You just need to continuously be attempting to grow, in some way. That might mean starting a new habit, spending time reading, taking up a new hobby.
One thing that I struggle with, however, is feeling like consuming a ton of media (primarily books and articles, but also videos, music, etc) feels like progress, but isn’t unless I act on it. It feels super productive to spend the day watching a webinar, but if I don’t apply what I’ve learned, I have wasted that time, and have led to a stagnation of energy. So, if you tend toward that, be aware, and try to focus on creating and implementing, not just consuming.

Following Your Life Calling

This may take some time to learn. Figure out, what are the things you’ve done that made you feel joy? How can you bring that into your life currently? It takes a certain amount of privilege to be able to drop everything and jump into your life calling, so be aware and don’t put yourself or others in danger, but be open to opportunities to grow closer to your joy. Being in alignment with your calling makes everything in life go better – you will find synchronicities happening at high speeds as you embrace what you’re meant to do.

Being in Healthy Relationships

This applies to romantic, familial, platonic, and professional relationships. It also ties into growth and integrity. Here are some tips:

  • If you have one-sided relationships where you are either giving everything and receiving nothing in return, or vice versa, you need to re-evaluate them.
  • If you aren’t satisfied, you need to be able to speak up and work with the other person to have a mutually beneficial relationship.
  • If neither of you are willing to compromise, it’s better to let that go rather than keeping hurting each other by not being what the other needs.

These open up room for a better version of yourself and a better relationship to come into your life. This is also a source of stagnant energy – it’s easy to stay in places that don’t help you grow, or actively keep you lower than you can be, but you will find a ton more energy and joy if you move on, once any initial pain is healed.

Surrounding Yourself With Positive Influences

This is related, but not the same as being in healthy relationships. You become more and more like the types of people you find yourself around and interacting with, physically, or energetically (including online). You should seek out relationships with people who will help you grow. Follow people who inspire you on social media. Intentionally spend more time around your friends who push you to be the best version of yourself that you can be. The energy of other people will affect your energy, so be aware!
In the case that you can’t avoid being around people that aren’t good for your growth, you can learn how to use reiki to protect yourself from their energies. In addition, there are many other forms of psychic protection that you can research and use if they feel useful or necessary.
